The Capital District YMCA Facts

The Capital District YMCA is the largest child care provider in the region, serving more than 2,400 children daily at 55 different locations across 14 different school districts.

• The Y serves more than 2,000 youngsters daily in summer day and resident camp programs.
• The Y serves more than 60,000 members and over 30,000 program participants are served yearly.
  
• Through Reach Out For Youth and special events, more than $1,000,000 will be raised to provide scholarships to kids and families in the Capital Region in the next year. Scholarship and program subsidies are available in all YMCA program areas. Examples include:
  • Teen Action Agenda
  • Black and Latino Achievers Program
  • Before and After School Child Care
  • Youth Sports, Fitness & Life Enrichment Activities
  • Camping at YMCA day camps, including Camp Nassau and our residence camp, Camp Chingachgook on Lake George
  • Swim lessons for all ages
  • Infant and Preschool Child Care
