Guilderland YMCA Pine Bush Triathlon
This is the 9th year for the Guilderland YMCA Pine Bush Triathlon. This event consists of a 325-yard swim, 11.5-mile bike, and a 3.25-mile run. All proceeds benefit local recreational projects, in the city of Albany, town of Guilderland, and Guilderland YMCA. There is both individual and team participation, (teams of three only) to this event. We do look for approximately 50 volunteers to help with this race. Help is needed in sports transition areas, water stations and helping the police departments control traffic on the bike and run routes.
The swim portion of the race begins at the City of Albany’s Rensselaer Lake which is part of the Pine Bush Reserve. The bike begins at the southern end of the lake and follows the paved path west. It then turns west on Washington Ave. Extension, and turns north on to Route 155 / New Karner Rd. and then west on to Old State Rd. The last leg is the run, which starts and finishes at the Guilderland YMCA.
