Schenectady YMCA Capital Campaign

A Message from the President and Chairman

Dear Friends,

It is an honor and a privilege for us to be in the position to lead the campaign to establish a new YMCA facility in Schenectady. For more than 150 years, the YMCA has been a staple of the Schenectady community that most everyone has appreciated in one way or another. The Schenectadians and others throughout the Capital District who have enjoyed the YMCA in Schenectady and its beautiful Camp Chingachgook on Lake George have been relentless in their support of the organization and their expressions of support for the new YMCA.

YMCAs bring many things to communities. Our new YMCA in Schenectady will provide a healthy environment for all programs and recreational facilities, and will house a pre-school child care center that will help many of Schenectady's families. The facility and all associated development at College Park will also be an aesthetic enhancement and emotional stimulant to further propel Schenectady towards self-betterment.

We have both been involved in the YMCA for many years and know the value it brings to our community. We will all benefit from our new facility. As we rally those interested from near and far, especially those heroes who have helped to make Schenectady great, to support this substantial initiative, we hope that you can respond accordingly and help to bring this project to fruition.

Together we can accomplish this objective and provide a cornerstone to the greater Schenectady community for generations to come.
