Southern Saratoga YMCA's KidzLodge Capital Campaign

KidzLodge
The YMCA is a very special organization and our Southern Saratoga County branch of the Capital District YMCA truly stands out and is a very remarkable place.

Over our first dozen years, or so, we have experienced unprecedented growth and have, in many ways, become an important part of the communities we serve. Without question, we have become the area’s premiere center of recreational and social activities, as well as being the number one provider of child care services.

In the Fall of 2007, our commitment to the community will once again be evidenced. We have purchased the Clifton Park—Halfmoon Public Library building and we will turn it into a fabulous early learning and child care center. We have made this commitment because, after considerable evaluation, we’ve determined there is a dire community need for additional slots within the infant and toddler programs; that our current pre-school location is greatly outdated; and the programs being offered in our temporary k-care modular must be re-located to a permanent space.

Take a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to have this comprehensive YMCA in our backyard. I’m certain you will agree that it is worthy of our continued investment. As you surely know, as a non-profit enterprise, it is difficult, if not impossible, for our organization to make capital commitments out of operational monies.

Simply put, this will be a $4-million dollar investment that will require expanded levels of private financial support to create our KidzLodge - Early Learning and Adventure Center project as we prepare ourselves for the years ahead.

As a gateway community to New York’s Adirondack Park, we’ve chosen to celebrate the theme of our storied natural treasure by appointing KidzLodge in the style of a traditional Adirondack Lodge. We would like to invite you to join us in making a capital investment toward the campaign; an investment that can be paid over the next five years. We are hoping that you will consider making a gift of significance, and gain recognition through a naming opportunity or should you wish to donate to our new endeavor “in kind”, please consider the theme of our new facility with possible contributions in the form of furniture, paintings, photographs, and other various accoutrement typical of a rustic Adirondack Lodge. As you can see in the enclosed material, these gifts will support a number of exciting and educationally rewarding initiatives for children.

Please take a few moments of reminiscence about how critically important providing high quality programming and modern facilities for our children is to all of us today.

Sincerely,

David Brown Marvin Leroy, Jr. Stacie Peugh
