The Brenda Deer Memorial Road Race & Kids Fun Run

The Brenda Deer Memorial Road Race
& Kids Fun Run is a 3.25 mile road race and a .5 mile fun run.
The road race is open to ages 10 and up. The Kids Fun Run is for
all ages. The event is named after Brenda Deer who was a Guilderland
resident and avid runner. She was a popular teacher's aide for six
years at the Guilderland Elementary School and a mother of three.
Brenda was tragically killed on July 30, 2000 when she was struck by a
drunk driver as she was running with her husband, John, on Route 155.
Brenda's morning runs with her husband were a part of her daily routine.
Proceeds from the event will be donated
to the Circle of Champs Program that is dedicated to improving the quality
of life for children, age 5-15, who have been touched by a life threatening
illness.
