Friday they will pile onto buses and head out to discover exciting hiking trails, and State

Discovery Camp

Participants in this program will be involved in a creative outdoor experience on a daily
basis. Campers will spend each Monday on the Nassau grounds and the rest of the week
they will load the bus and head out for fun-filled destinations. Some of the exciting trips
we have planned for this summer include: white-water rafting, Great Escape, hiking in the
Adirondack Mountains, horseback riding, and visits to New York State Parks. The
Discoveries program has proven to be so popular that we are adding additional programs.

Both programs will have to have a minimum of 15 campers enrolled. The Maximum for
any one camp will be 30.

Cost: $270 per week
Ages: Students entering 6th-8th grade in September

Art Camp

Does your child have some budding talent in painting or drawing that needs to be developed? Do you find your child drawing in their spare time? Does he/she enjoy creating through art? If so, your child would love our exciting Art Camp.

Instruction in this full day camp consists of painting and drawing with assorted media and materials and will be taught in both group and individual settings. Full days are devoted to art instruction and hands-on practice. No previous art experience is necessary and all ability levels are welcome. All materials and supplies will be provided. Daily breaks for exercise and recreational swimming will also be included. However, instructional swim is not offered in this program.

There will be weekly art shows on Friday afternoons, where work will be presented and displayed for other campers to visit and enjoy.

Cost: $220 per week
Ages: Students entering 2nd-8th grade in September.

Drama Camp

Does your child have undeveloped and unexplored dramatic talents? Does your child sing and dance around the house to emulate their favorite stars? Has he/she expressed a desire to be "on stage" when they grow up? Maybe your child is just shy and needs some encouragement and training to become comfortable in front of large groups of people. If so, our Drama camp is just for him/her.

With the guidance of trained instructors, your child will enjoy performing in a production put on by the Drama Camp. Improvisation and other drama exercises will also be covered in this one-week session.

Due to the complexity of staging a production, many elements must be pulled together during the week in anticipation of Friday's mid-day performance. Each Monday, all children will be asked which

Aspect of the production he/she would like to be involved in: singing and or dancing.

No previous work in drama, chorus or dance is necessary for a successful and rewarding experience during these fun and informative weeks.

The completion of each week will be marked by a wrap-up performance at approximately 12:30 in the Recreation Hall. All parents and friends are invited to become a part of the audience and enjoy the show.

Recreational swimming and exercise are built into the day to create a well-rounded co-ed camping experience.

Cost: $220 per week
Ages: Students entering 2nd-8th grade in September.

Leaders in Training (LIT)

The LIT program is a training opportunity for teen wishing to eventually become counselors at Camp Nassau. Our program will assist each teenager in developing and learning the skill necessary to supervise and instruct children. Each LIT is assigned to a specific age group of children or to one of our specialty camps. He or she will be under the direction of an experienced leader and the administration. The LIT receives "on the job" training as well as specially structured programs to enhance their learning experience.

Throughout the day, a coordinator oversees the LIT group and provides guidance. The LIT's are also given one optional free period each day to participate in an activity with other peers.

Cost: $175 per week
Ages: Must be entering 9th grade through 15 years of age.
Extended care and transportation are available for additional fees
