CAMPING PHILOSOPHY:
Deliver high quality camping programs that will provide participants with the "Experience of a Lifetime" in a safe, educational and fun environment.

OBJECTIVES
1. Have fun and adventure in a safe environment.
2. Enhance individual character and moral development
3. Develop new skills and interests and have fun new experiences.
4. Develop a respect for the natural world and how to work towards its conservation.
5. Develop new friendships and social skills including team work and group responsibility.
6. Develop an appreciation of self worth and self-expression.
7. Develop a sense of cultural appreciation and work towards a worldwide understanding.
8. Learn about personal wellness and develop a healthy lifestyle.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

The YMCA of the USA has identified Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility as the four core values of Character Development. Camp program activities focus on teaching these values through arts and crafts, sports, project adventure, activities, circle games, group projects and creative play. Campers learn to develop positive social skills through this program in preparation for their life as productive citizens in the community.

LEADERSHIP
The quality of leadership is essential to a successful camp. All YMCA camps are under the direction of a YMCA Professional Staff Member. Our staff is selected on the basis of experience, education, sensitivity, and enthusiasm. All staff go through a complete interview process, including background checks, followed by intensive staff training. We strive to select staff that demonstrate the four Core Values of the YMCA-Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
