YMCA Day Camp - General Info

Camp Objectives
Capital District YMCA Summer Camps provide an opportunity to:

  • Have fun and adventure in a safe environment.
  • Enhance individual character and moral development.
  • Develop new skills and interest and have new experiences.
  • Develop a respect for the nature world and work for its conservation.
  • Develop new friendships and social skills and learn about team work and group responsibility.
  • Develop an appreciation of self-worth and self-expression.
  • Develop a sense of cultural appreciation and work for worldwide understanding.

Camping Philosophy
The YMCA strives to deliver high quality camping
programs that will provide participants with the "Experience of a Lifetime: in a safe, educational, and fun environment."

Camp Highlights

The campers will participate in a wide variety of activities held at the YMCA facilities, parks, cultural centers and recreation areas. Campers will participate in sports and recreation, explore their community, enjoy special events, guest speakers and field trips while they make new friends, try new things and have a safe and exciting summer camp experience.

Free Lunch / Snack Program
Each year, the Troy Adventure Day Camp participates in a free lunch program with Rensselaer County Dept. of Health. This program provides us with free lunches and afternoon snack for all of our campers. Please indicate each week your child will be participating in this program. (Meal menus will be available on the first day of camp.)

Parent Notes:
Video Games/Electronics or Trading Cards Are Not Allowed.
All articles of clothing should be marked with the camper’s name.
The YMCA is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
