Greene County YMCA Receives Major Donations towards its new facility

Capital District YMCA President and CEO, David Brown, in conjunction with the Greene County YMCA Capital Campaign Co-Chair, Hugh Quigley, announces the receipt of a $50,000 donation from Sunny Hill Resort and the Nicholsen Family as well as a $7,600 check from the Greene County YMCA Golf Tournament at Thunderhart.
Coxsackie, NY - Capital District YMCA President and CEO, David Brown, in conjunction with the Greene County YMCA Capital Campaign Co-Chair, Hugh Quigley, announces the receipt of a $50,000 donation from Sunny Hill Resort and the Nicholsen Family as well as a $7,600 check from the Greene County YMCA Golf Tournament at Thunderhart.
“The support we’ve received from Sunny Hill Resort and Thunderhart Golf Course have echoed the sentiments we’ve received throughout the region,” said David Brown. “We are excited to see the enthusiasm for this project and the programming that the new YMCA will be able to offer to Greene County Residents.”
The Greene County YMCA is currently open in its interim facility at 370 Mansion Street in Coxsackie. The facility offers spinning and exercise classes and toddler and youth programming. The YMCA also offers after-school childcare programs at local schools.
The new YMCA facility will be located in the Greene Business and Technology Park in West Coxsackie. The 18- acre location, a gift from the Greene County IDA, offers utility infrastructure and has high-traffic and visibility. The YMCA will offer affordable membership fees, $20-$80/month, depending on program and family size.
The 31,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will include an Indoor Swimming Pool, Multi-Use Gymnasium, Babysitting Room, Multi-Use Community Rooms, Wellness Center and offer programs including, child care and summer day camps, after-school activities, tutoring, teen and family events, and active older adult programs.
